Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Programme

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Programme offers grants for undergraduate students of limited financial means who are US citizens to pursue academic studies abroad. Award recipients are chosen by a competitive selection process and must use the award to defray eligible study abroad costs. These costs include programme tuition, room and board, books, local transportation, insurance and international airfares.

This congressionally funded programme is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US Department of State and is administered by the Institute of International Education through its Southern Regional Centre in Houston, Texas. Interested students can apply by April (for the autumn semester) and October (for the spring semester). For detailed information on the programme, click here.
